The NASA 1st annual International Space Station (ISS) Research & Development Conference, will give companies currently working with NASA the opportunity to present their technologies to leading companies, industry experts, and government officials. This is the only annual conference offering perspectives on the full breadth of research and technology development on ISS and highlights the exciting opportunities for future research. The Cambrian Innovation is excited to announce that we will be presenting at the Workshop on June 28th, 2012.
Jen Huang, Senior Environmental Engineer at Cambrian Innovation, will be presenting the results of a Cambrian project with NASA, in which we developed a bio-electrochemical system (BES) that is focused on improving performance and reducing the footprint of life support systems. The BES system can produce a reliable stream of oxygen, while simultaneously converting the waste generated as a by-product of human metabolism into useful substances, such water and methane. More broadly, this technology has the potential to serve as a platform for transforming waste from a variety of sources into value added products.
