Cambrian Innovation Welcomes Clean Energy Pioneer, David Buzby, to Its Board of Directors
BOSTON — February 23, 2016 — Cambrian Innovation, provider of advanced biotechnology products for industrial businesses, announced today that David Buzby joined the company as Independent Director. Drawing from nearly three decades of experience investing in, and growing, world-class clean energy companies, Mr. Buzby will be an important guiding voice as Cambrian continues the rapid deployment of the EcoVolt product suite nationwide and globally.
“I look forward to helping Cambrian realize its potential as the leader in wastewater treatment as a service, allowing industry to cost effectively manage their water byproducts. What drew me to Cambrian was their team’s commitment to the quality of their product, the size of the problem they are addressing and their ability to grow globally. Borrowing on some of the same successful business model innovations we developed at SunEdison, SunRun and Stem, Cambrian has a very bright future and the world’s water will be cleaner and more available to repurpose for re-use”, said David.
David is a Boston and San Francisco based investor with 27 years of operating and equity investment experience. Since 1991, he has been investing in early stage environmental and e-commerce companies, assuming Board and/or senior management roles. Chief among them are: founding investor and Director of Stem, the leading distributed storage and grid services company; past Chairman and founding investor of SunEdison (NYSE:SUNE) until its sale to MEMC in 2009; past Director and early investor in SunRun (NASD:RUN) the 2nd largest US residential solar company; past CEO and co-founder of Bright Plain Renewable Energy, a leading owner/operator of large scale solar farms; past founding investor and Director of ValueClick (NASD:VCLK), sold to Alliance Data Systems (NYSE: ADS) in 2014 and past founding investor, Director and CFO, of Best Internet, the largest global shared server web host, sold to Verio in 1999 (NASD:VRIO).
David will provide guidance as Cambrian Innovation increasingly shifts towards a service-model, powered by its recently announced $30 Million Water-Energy Purchase Agreement Fund.
“We are honored to have David’s help in growing Cambrian Innovation. While Cambrian continues to build an outstanding suite of industrial solutions, leaders like Mr. Buzby will help guide the company’s growth and global vision,” said Cambrian Innovation CEO Matthew Silver. “David has unparalleled insight into the world of clean technology, particularly the kind of innovative finance and deployment approaches that Cambrian has been developing, and he will be an important part of Cambrian’s future growth in this space.”
David earned a B.A. from Middlebury College in 1982 and an M.B.A. from Harvard University in 1988.
